Second Sunday of Advent Rachel Swingler, '19 During this Advent season, God is coming to be present in our lives in a unique and special way. “For God has commanded that every lofty mountain be made low, and that the age-old depths and gorges be filled to level ground, that Israel may advance secure in the glory of God.” God the Father is breaking the boundaries between divine and man by sending his son, Jesus, to Earth. He will flatten mountains and fill depths (defying nature) to make way for salvation, which is present in Jesus. It is our job to anticipate this epic coming. We need to increase our love and righteousness so we can “be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.” We pray: God, excite our hearts in preparation for the gift of your Son. Help us prepare the way for your glory and love. Amen.
