Friday, December 21 – Friday of the Third Week of Advent Song of Songs 2:8-14; Psalm 33:2-3, 11-12, 20-21; Luke 1:39-45 Olivia Hartlaub, ‘19 Above is a picture of Joy from Inside Out. We can see her joyous personality in this picture from her silly pose to her boisterous blue hair. She is the emotion of Joy, hence the name. These few passages from the Bible speak of the joy that we are to meditate on during this time in Advent. We are to experience the tremendous joy of Jesus coming into this world for us, the same joy that made John leap from inside Elizabeth’s womb in the presence of Jesus Christ. As we leave for break, remember the sacrifice that Jesus made, and that God is calling for us to share in that joy. Shout, scream, sing! For Christmas is only four days away, and Jesus is coming! O Oriens: “O Radiant Dawn, splendor of eternal light, sun of justice: come and shine on those who dwell in darkness and in the shadow of death.”
